I went to IMATS 2012 in Toronto with a mission to stay on budget and bring a shopping list! The latter went out the door when I left that shopping list at home.
We arrived and I knew I wanted to hit the big brands first, so off to the MUFE and MAC counters we went. I haven't bought foundation in over a year so it was time to stock up on some old favorites and also try something new.
From MUFE I got the HD Foundations in 118, and 120. Their entire range was available for sale at 20% off.
At MAC I grabbed the Face and Body Foundation in C2, and a Mineralize Skinfinish in Light Plus. The MAC counter only carried their pro items and select items from their regular range. That was unfortunate, because my mom loves MAC lipsticks and I couldn't grab any of her favorites. One thing I would like to add is that I didn't like the layout/setup at the MAC counter. It was like a mini MAC store but this type of layout doesn't work well for a trade show where there's so many people. If they want to offer an 'in store experience' I hope they get a larger space next year, or just change their floor plan for better crowd control. MAC items were all slightly discounted plus an additional 20% off on all purchases.
We hit up the NARS counter next but they weren't offering any promotions for the show, so I opted not to purchase anything.
I was also planning to purchase the dual cream foundation from Eve Pearl but my cousin really didn't like the finish and talked me out of it. Even though I didn't grab anything from her line, I absolutely adore Eve Pearl. She's an amazing instructor and sales person. It was oddly captivating just to hear her talk about her products, and different make up techniques. She seemed very passionate about her products and her brand.
With all my big purchases decided and made, I went to the NAKED cosmetics counter next. I am on a permanent eye shadow ban but I made myself an exception for these babies at the show. It was $50 for 2 sets of pigments (6 individual colors each) at the show. They also had an offer for their pro kit which came with 7 sets of pigments and a carrying case. I went with the 2 for $50 and got Naturally Nude and Cabernet Blush. I'm absolutely thrilled I finally got my hands on these. They've been on my lust list for a long time now.
There was a great deal at Classique Beauty Supply, a local Toronto establishment, for OPI polishes so I grabbed Yoga-ta Get This Blue, Road House Blues, Glitzerland, Malaga Wine, Meet Me on the Star Ferry, and Russian Navy. OPI polishes were 6 for $33, and China Glaze polishes were 6 for $25.
My last few purchases of the day include Crown Brush S205, 2 Brush roll/belts, MUFE Aqua Smoky Eyes Waterproof Mascara, and MUFE HD Concealer in 330.
Made some additional MUFE purchases because there was bit of a situation with my cousin's purchases and we had to exchange some items. I ended up grabbing some things instead, because well I'm a makeup hoarder, and she didn't really find anything else she wanted.
Let's assess the damage.

OCC is on the top of my vendor list for IMATS 2013! I didn't get to grab anything from them this year.
