Dr. G Hydra Intensive BB cream is the top selling BB cream on SASA.com. This product sports a high SPF of 30 which is great for sun protection but does not look good in any flash photos. Surprisingly for a Korean based skincare company, the color of this BB cream is not very light and looks quite natural on me (NC30). The consistency of this BB cream looks fairly thick coming out of the tube, but is actually smooth and very easy to apply to the skin. The product description claims that this BB cream uses hydrophilic and lipophilic ingredients to care for the skin, inside and out. I can’t really comment on the hydrating effectiveness of this product because I wear this over a SPF 30 sun lotion which also hydrates and protects my skin very well but I do like that it's not drying.
A great thing about this product is that I only need to use a pea size amount to cover my entire face. The pigmentation and coverage is great. It conceals my redness and most spots really well and also manages to conceal my under eye area very naturally. I think with most BB creams, using your fingers is the best way to apply the product to your skin. I wear this product over moisturizer and sunscreen and the result is an amazing natural matte finish that lasts all day long and doesn’t get oily. A lot of other hydrating BB cream formulas will get my skin really oily after a few hours, but this stays matte throughout the day and actually looks better after a few hours from the time of application. Out of the few BB creams I’ve tried, Dr. G Hydra Intensive BB cream is definitely my favorite. Unfortunately, this product only comes in 1 shade so the color selection is a definite hit or miss. I wear a high SPF sun lotion so I don’t have any issues with the matte finish (yes it's 'hydrating' bb cream with a matte finish ...)
Quick before and after. Please keep in mind I have extreme acne and hyper pigmentation. I also have freckles on my left cheek.
What is your current BB cream and how do you like it?
