My Hoochie Nails - Essie Perky Purple Review

Though I love the pastel and greige nail colors, it's extremely challenging to find shades that look great on my skin tone. Luckily for me, when the neon craze was in I nabbed a bottle of Essie's Perky Purple.

Please excuse bad lighting and shower tiles in the background. I wanted to snap pictures during the day, but was running late for work so I took these just a few minutes ago. EHehehoeOHohoh.

A part of the Essie Neon Collection, the finish for this is actually matte. Not sure if it's because of the matte formulation, but this polish is extremely streaky. Unfortunately I don't own any other matte polishes so I'm not able to compare and say for sure. Can you see the unevenness? The brush is also tiny so that can cause uneven application.

I top coat the hell out it. I never wear it matte. With 2 coats, plus top, you can still see how uneven it is under very bright light/flash. Under dimmer lighting it's all good.

Even though I hate the streaky application, and the tiny Essie brush, I will repurchase this bad boy. It's so bright, so fuchsia, so tacky ... I love it. I really wish the brush was bigger because as you can tell from these pictures, I have naturally long nails. I can not cut my nails any shorter then this, so I do prefer the larger and wider brushes.

Sum it up!
Cons - streaky, skinny/tiny brush, limited edition
Pros - bright and tacky, dries fast, great on my skin, great color for spring, summer, and fall

Does anyone know of a dupe or a similar color? I can't find this any more.
